Lyn Interviews Book Blogger Nina’s at My House — 12 Comments

  1. I love to knit and crochet and Nina has inspired me many times. I learned when I was a small child and now love quick projects. I do read -probably too much. I enjoy Amish fiction, mysteries and historical fiction. I also enjoy gardening books and cookbooks. Love to try new plants and new recipes. Thanks for the opportunity to try one of your books.

  2. I love to read….mainly mysteries and romance…can not go to sleep unless I have read at least a chapter or two however tired I am.
My mother taught me to knit many moons ago and learned to crochet in my late 20’s at a course offered at the recreation park. My favorite things to knit are baby items and I love crocheting Christmas ornaments along with anything else crocheted. Just wish there were more hours in the day to do more….lol

  3. My favorite books to read are Historical Romance, and I love the early 1900 era. Over the winter I learned to Loom Knit. I have tremors in my hands so have trouble holding the yarn as it should be held, so with using looms it has become easier and very enjoyable. Also love baking cookies for my 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and baking bread for my husband. Am looking forward to summer after we have had a hard cold winter in the northern states. Looking forward to reading your new book Lyn, and “Nina” is part of my library.

  4. I adore reading, was reading “adult” material at about 8 years old. It was an escape for a very shy girl who had trouble making friends. At around the same time my mother and grandmother taught me the basics of crochet-chain stitch, single and double crochet. I did a couple small things for my dolls then put down my hook. At 19 I picked it back up again and it snowballed from there. I taught myself the more advanced stitches, then put my hook down again. It was off and on until 2002 when I discovered people would pay me to crochet for them. It’s been a constant in my life for the last 12 years. I have since taught myself loom knitting and knooking. My husband and I enjoy costuming. At Christmas we dress as elves when we Christmas shop and on St. Patrick’s Day we have a standing “gig” in Knoxville, TN where we entertain at a gastropub. We give away little trinkets and pose for pictures. We get paid a bit for it but we do it because we love to make people smile!

  5. I love to read, but don’t get enough time for it. I was about 4 when my oldest brother taught me how to finger crochet. In my teens, I bought a book and learned the basics of knit and crochet, but had trouble with my tension. I found a better lesson on crochet in my 20’s, and started crocheting and sewing while pregnant. Since then, I’ve designed hats, scarves, afghans, bags, ornaments, toys, and even a Halloween costume. Still don’t have my knitting tension straight, and probably won’t until my son is out of his teens!

  6. Would love to have you over some time. Lol
    What is your favorite cookies?

  7. I love to read books and I love taking pictures of flowers
I’ve never ever tried knitting don’t think that I would do a good job at it.
Not that kind of person who is that patient for doing that kind of stuff like that.
Oh and I love to bake fresh cookies and breads yummy.
