After 26 years of marriage Sharon's beloved husband Michael passed away in 2014. Together they had a life filled with adventure, laughter and unconditional love. She considers herself blessed to have been loved that way. She now lives with three nearly grown children, a nervous border collie and two cats.

Her love for mystery and suspense began in the fifth grade, when she found a whole set of Nancy Drew mysteries with pink covers in the school library. Sharon is the author of five humorous mysteries that were written for Christian readers. Her second book in her Ruby Taylor mystery series was voted book of the year by American Christian Fiction Writers.

Sharon has a bachelor's degree in film production and a master's degree in history. She

Yes, this is a business about rejection and hearing the word "no"more than u hear the word "yes" even after u get published.

You have to write because u love to write. The pleasure has to be in making a story work. It sounds like the constant rejection kills your creativity. after my first book almost sold and then got shot down, I went to a writer's conference
and realized I could spend my whole life studying story craft and never get bored. Publication was secondary. I decided to be a student of the novel. Quilters don't quilt because they can make money at it, they quilt because it nourishes their soul. So i guess what I am saying is shift your focus a little.

Yes,there is a ton of competition and the industry seems to get turned on its head every couple of years. I can only tell u what helped me when I joined some writer organizations and a local critique group, I felt encouraged and found the cheerleaders and fellowship that buoyed me up against the rejection. U might look into ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) I am no longer a member but they helped me a ton when i was starting out. U do have to be careful. some critique groups can be unhealthy and be more about hurting each other rather than supporting.

Finally, do not let the rejections determine if u can write or not. U give editors too much say over your talent. Find the place inside yourself that knows you were meant to write regardless of what an editor says.

It was my pleasure to answer your questions and it was an honor. I hope it helped. Feel free to shoot me another question.

I am so glad you liked them and even more happy you took the time to let me know. That means so much to me as a writer. Right now, there are no plans for additional books in the series. Thanks again for taking the time to write me, you made my day.(less)

Give Thanks: Sad Tragic Things

It is the question that is never answered. If God is good, why does he allow suffering and pain? In 1000 Gifts Ann Vosskamp begins to address that dilemma. Though it can never totally be answered. She talks about her son cutting his hand in a farm accident, but living and keeping the hand. That same week a neighboring farm boy dies and she recalls a brother in law who has watched two of his childr

Sharon Dunn Margaret, I have started the process to put up the author profile. I could spend all day on this. I love talking about books. I think that you came up as a friend of Susan Sleeman when I went through my gmail contacts.

Margaret Chind Hey Sharon, if you're an author you know you can claim your Goodreads author profile? And you said I'm friends with a contact, who prey tell? :)
