Kathryn Springer grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, where her parents published a weekly newspaper. As a child, she spent many hours sitting at her mother’s typewriter, plunking out stories, and credits her parents for instilling in her a love of books – which eventually turned into a desire to tell stories of her own.

After a number of busy years, when she married her college sweetheart and became a stay-at-home mom, Kathryn rediscovered her love for writing. An unexpected snow day from school became the inspiration for a short story, which she submitted to Brio magazine. She went on to publish over a dozen more short stories for Brio, but it wasn’t until her youngest child started school that she decided to pursue her dream to write a book. In August 2004, her Love Inspired® debut novel, Tested by Fire, was published.

Fast forward to today and Kathryn has written over thirty novels. She lives on a lake in northern Wisconsin where she enjoys long walks in the woods and the change of seasons (although sometimes she wishes the "change" between winter and spring didn't last quite so long!) When she isn’t at the computer, you’ll find her spending time with family and friends, paging through cooking magazines or sitting in the sun. A really, really good day includes all three! If you want to know more, follow her blog Table Grace. . .thoughts and musings on living a life with nothing artificial added.

"At nine o'clock on Monday morning, Maddie Montgomery brewed a cup of Earl Grey tea and opened the Castle Falls Library, ready for another quiet, ordinary day. And then someone dropped a pirate off at her door." Sqqquuueaaallll - doesn't that opening scream 'Read me! Read me!' Like, right now. So I did. Eyes glued to page until I reached the end. I mean...I can't even...

Shy, bespectacled librarian meets adventure-seeking pirate -- how perfect is that? Except...wait...Maddie lives through her books while Aiden doesn't even read them! Gasp! Say it ain't so -- how can a non-reader be my hero? Especially since I'm like Maddie when it comes to books:

"For Maddie, sharing a favorite book was like sharing a secret. You weren't just giving people a book. You were offering them a glimpse into your heart" (p 39)

Disgruntled sigh. I was prepared to make Aiden work for my hero worship but then he winked at me. Well, at Maddie. And Maddie's tummy went all aflutter just like mine did. And there was Aiden all adorably needy after being in a car accident and grumpy because he's not the kind of guy who likes to be fussed over. In fact, as the youngest Kane he has to endure a lot of 'brother smother' as his macho older siblings try to make things easier for him. So he's hiding out in the library wondering how he totally missed the cute librarian all these years. Because Castle Falls is the kind of small town where everyone knows everyone else. Clearly this hero and heroine lived in different worlds until fate stepped in and...the unlikeliest romance blossoms!

And there's a dog!!! Injured, abandoned and when he bares his teeth it might be preface to a growl or a smile. No one's exactly sure. But he's got attitude, which exactly matches Aiden's so this non-reading hero just went up a notch in my estimation since he's kind to animals (sort of...in a grumpy way.)

A brilliant plot held me spellbound not just because of Maddie and Aiden but a host of captivating secondary characters as well. And dare I hope that the author has set the stage for fourth book in this series? Even though all the brothers have found their matches there's a tight-lipped deputy who caught my eye. A single dad who seems a tad out of his element. I'm hoping he gets his own story and I know just the woman for him...

Oh -- and by the way, this is the third book in Kathryn Springer's Castle Falls series. I missed the first one but The Bachelor's Twins was just as sublime as this one so I highly recommend the series.

I am a friend of Kathryn Springer's but I started reading and loving her books before I met her! She writes a lovely book. Her books aren't non-stop thrillers but gentle sweet romances with characters that I immediately care about. The librarian heroine vs. the adventurous hero, laid up after an accident are wonderful believable characters. I like that she brought 3 teens who needed help into the story--giving both the hero and heroine of the story a chance to show themselves in action. Too often Harlequin only wants LITTLE children in their books--why not teens? Especially since so many teens read Love Inspired Romances! I loved the setting of the UP of MI--just north of my hometown. The author gave me a copy of her latest book, but this is my honest opinion!--Lyn Cote

I do not know where to even start singing praises to this book. It was not only my kind of cup of tea, but the whole tea pot and some.

Faith, compassion, humor, courage, patience, empathy combined with library, books, rugged outdoors, family, and a shelter dog make one appealing read in my eyes.

The most attractive and memorable part of this book: Aiden, the youngest brother who sees himself as the family's liability rather than an asset. He is a jokester, a daredevil, and someone who has been misunderstood for years. But the local librarian Maddie seems to get him, to challenge him, to inspire him, and to ground him like no one else ever has. Like the river Aiden loves so much, his character runs deeper indeed. Great book boyfriend material right there.

This story easily joins my favorite reads this year. Five stars and a whole lot more.

What a book! I loved this book so much and rooted for Aiden and Maddie throughout the book. I too toyed with dreams of being a librarian . The Bachelor's Perfect Match tells the story of two very normal people (one broken and another battling feelings of inadequacy ) and how God brought them together . I am such a sucker for love stories and the inner romantic in me needs quenching NOW

This novel is part of a series though I had no problem enjoying it as a standalone.

Maddie and Aiden shared sweet chemistry and enough conversations with depth that I could buy into their developing feelings easily enough. I did have mixed thoughts about Maddie’s reason for putting distance between her and Aiden. It seemed like it would have been simple to clear up her concerns with a conversation, given Aiden’s upbringing odds were strong that he’d stand on a particular side of that issue but at the same time I guess I could see where she would feel too vulnerable to risk it, how she might fear rejection over something that already had her feeling defective (which she is not.).

I liked the romance but I appreciated that it wasn’t the only thing going on. I wonder if some readers might find that this isn’t quite as focused on the romance as they’d prefer but I’ve been in something of a reading slump the last few months and having other aspects of the story (two mysteries and volunteer work with a trio of teens) in addition to the romance really helped me feel engaged the entire time I was reading, it felt like there was always something happening, no noticeable lulls in the action.

The Bachelor's Perfect Match by Kathryn Springer. Maddie Montgomery had two heart operations when she was small. She was told not to over do it. Her parents protected her. Made sure she had lots of books to read. She became a librarian in Castle Falls. Aiden Kane has always been adventurist. He wasn't afraid of anything. His family owns a canoe store and did trips down the river. One day Aiden was going down a road with a sharp curve and a truck from the other way was going fast and would have hit him if he hadn't gone in the ditch. Aiden was pretty beat up. didn't think he would live. Aiden waited for a bus to take him to therapy at the library. Which is where he met Maddie. She was helping three teenage students. Things connected after that. A very interesting and good story. He finds out who was driving the truck that was going fast and didn't stop to help him.

The Bachelor's Perfect Match doesn't disappoint. The character's are deep and very opposite of one another. Maddie likes to read, never takes chances, doesn't do anything outside, whereas Aiden prefers the outdoors and is always, always on the move. Except, while Maddie attempts to help a small group of high school students, she discovers the only thing that interests them is Aiden and his adventures. We meet Aiden while he is impatiently mending from a car accident, and he is super unhappy about sitting still.

Maddie thinks no one like Aiden would ever like, like her, she is too boring. And Aiden, like his brothers, isn't looking for love. So when he finds it, he is surprised and none to thrilled.

Another great read by Kathryn Springer!

Maddie is the small town librarian. Having had heart surgery as a child she found comfort in books.
Adian is a man loves the outdoors and finds the love taken from him after an accident.
Skye,Tyler and Justin are 3 high school kids find themselves in a group that Maddie seems to have been given to mentor. The 5 of them come together through the River Quest. Each learning things about themselves and each other.

Just starting to do actual reviews. Excited to do this and will read others to learn more on how to do them. Any suggestions welcome.

I loved the idea of this one. A librarian in a story how perfect. However, this one was far from perfect for me. I felt the characters were a bit weak, and parts of the story was rushed. (adoption) I felt like there was too much going on in this story for the length. I never really felt the connection between Maddie and Aiden. It felt like a middle school romance.

I'm so happy I found this author. Her books are well written and delightfully sweet. I just wish the publisher would design better covers for her books. The content is much better than the cover would have you believe.

I didn't realize this was a series, so I'll be looking for 1&2 now!

I enjoy reading a good clean romance and this one did not disappoint. It's a reminder that God puts us in situations for the greater good and He is in control.

I really enjoy Kathryn Springer's books and this one did no disappoint! Two people who seem like polar opposites are brought together over necessity and find they have more in common than they thought.

"Springer’s latest is part of the Castle Falls series. There is solid character development, particularly with Aiden. The teens are a wonderful addition to the story. The characters demonstrate that, while change isn’t always pleasant, it is a necessary component of life … and it sometimes ends better than expected" (4 stars @ RT Book Reviews).
