My guest today is author Deborah Hale. She shares about borrowing strength in a way she hadn’t expected. Also she’s giving away a book to someone who leaves a comment. You’ll recognize the book cover. She and Louise M Gouge are the authors of the 2 novellas in one Love Inspired Historical, The Wedding Season!<\/em><\/a> Here’s Deborah:<\/span><\/p>\n

“Borrowing Strength<\/span><\/p>\n

When my twin sons were born, I knew raising them would be a bit more of a challenge, simply because there were two of them.\u00a0 As an experienced Mom of two older children, I figured I could handle it.\u00a0 But I wasn\u2019t prepared for what would happen when one of the babies started crying.\u00a0 It would upset the other twin, who would also start crying, which would further upset the first twin.\u00a0 What we didn\u2019t realize at the time was that the boys had autism and were very sensitive to loud, high-pitched noises\u2026like their twin brother wailing! <\/span><\/p>\n

When my husband was home, I could hand off one baby to him and we would each go to different parts of the house to calm them down.\u00a0 But when I was by myself and the crying cycle started, it was very frustrating for all of us. I often ended up in tears, too.\u00a0 Then one day when I was at the end of my rope, I began singing one of my favorite hymns to make myself feel a little better and remind me that I wasn\u2019t really alone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The babies\u2019 crying gradually eased and a feeling of peace came over me.\u00a0 I might not have the strength to handle all the challenges of parenting twins, but I knew I could always rely on God to lend me the strength I needed during the tough times.\u00a0 There were many of those over the years, some that continue to this day, but the rewards have been very rich too. <\/span><\/p>\n
