Here&#8217;s Piper:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hello everyone!<\/p>\n<p>Fried Apples is a longtime Holt family favorite.<\/p>\n<p>My mother taught me how to make them and she learned the recipe from her grandmother. We usually eat them as a side dish with poultry. I make fried apples often, about two times a week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fried Apples<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4 medium sized apples (I use Golden Delicious, Fiji, Gala.\u00a0 Granny Smiths are too hard and McIntoshes are too soft\u2014even though I love the tartness of them).<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon butter<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup apple cider or apple juice (If you don\u2019t have them, water is fine, but cider or juice does add flavor)<\/p>\n<p>Melt the butter into a skillet on medium heat on top of the stove.\u00a0 Thinly slice the apples (keep the peel on).\u00a0 Pour the apples into the skillet on top of the melted butter. Pour on the cider\/juice and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over all.\u00a0 Cover with the lid and let simmer for 10 minutes or so until the apples are soft.\u00a0 Once the apples are soft, take the lid off and continue to cook until the liquid has mostly thickened into a syrup.
