“Expectations\u2014even good ones\u2014 can get us into quite a bit of trouble. <\/span><\/p>\n

Suzann is a woman who knows what she wants: to marry Adam. She\u2019s ready, he isn\u2019t. It\u2019s an age-old story, isn\u2019t it? <\/span><\/p>\n

The problem with human beings is that you often can\u2019t force their growth into your timeline. Even when you\u2019re sure your timeline is right (as I so often am\u2026much to my own dismay).<\/span><\/p>\n

Timeline clashes don\u2019t come much bigger than wedding proposals. It\u2019s a situation where the timing can\u2019t be faked or forced\u2014both parties have to be genuinely ready. That duality leads to lots of heartbreak, loads of frustration, and circumstances that send us to God in desperate prayer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Which is exactly where we need to go. <\/span><\/p>\n

No force on earth can change or soothe a heart like God. His timing is never off, no matter how it looks from here. Both Suzann and Adam learn that lesson on deep levels in this emotional short story that I\u2019ve loved from the first time it appeared as the prequel to MY SO-CALLED LOVE LIFE. <\/span><\/p>\n
