Lyn Interviews Best-Selling Author Lois Richer — 15 Comments

  1. Thanks Lyn, its been a tough month (add an injured wrist and pain to the situtation). Today I got a christmas card with a note and a reminder mum is in heaven and its a blessing for her. While I know this and understand she is better of being reminded of this so often isn’t as comforting as many may think. and of course it brought tears. But Tears are healing and its ok to cry. It is helping me be more understanding.
I am actually missing dad who died almost 37 years ago even more than I am missing mum.

  2. Jenny, I think you have expressed a very true situation. People say things, thinking they are comforting you and really what they say isn’t comforting at all.

Holidays do bring up memories of the loved one. But from what I know of you–you will dwell on the good memories. You’re a strong young woman and I’m just sorry you lost your mom.

I’m sorry I lost mine too. I don’t think about it but when I think of her, I still feel sad.

    Hugs,
    Lyn

  3. Im late and I understand about the book I am not reponding for that reason. I am late.
I have read a couple of Lois’s books.
but the question do you have words of comfort for the grieving to share. Cant say I do but I do know one question not to ask anyone greiving at this time of year is how are you holding up in the Christmas season, Or are you coping ok at the moment, or are you over it yet? Oh and the other This will be a hard time for you being the first Christmas. I have in the past week been asked all these questions and told I will struggle. Its not something a grieving person needs to hear (that it will be hard we already know that). I don’t mind the normal question we ask anyone how are you today? Cos its a normal question and I can then say well this weekend I am struggling or I am fine if I dont want to talk about it. But if you do ask how someone is and you can see they are struggling but say they are fine dont push its often said I’m fine because they don’t want to talk at that time. I have people I will be honest with but others I know if I say something they either don’t want to hear or they get overly emotional and I cant deal with trying to support someone else when my emotions this christmas are so fragile. Just wanted to mention this for others. (and this isn’t what all will feel but if you do want to know how they are ask like you would ask anyone how are you)

  4. Lois is a generous soul. But I’m going to limit her offer to give copies to each commeter to the ones who posted comments before her kind offer! You understand.

  5. Thank you all so much for posting. I appreciate all of your comments. A big thank you to Lyn for hosting me.

I’m sorry I missed speaking with you on Wednesday. I did check in a couple of times but I think you were still asleep. 🙂 Then my day just got too busy.

I’m so delighted some of you are new to my books. I hope you’ll enjoy them. I’m happy to send everyone of you a copy of Yuletide Proposal. Either email me with your snail mail address at loisricher(at)yahoo(dot)com or you can tell Lyn and she’ll pass it on to me.

Best wishes to all for a blessed Christmas and a very happy New Year.

    Lois
