Lyn Asks the June Question — 9 Comments

  1. My 23 year old plans to enlist soon and his friend that I call “my weekend son” will be deploying in October. There is a third best friend that I call “my twins” when I refer to him and my son, as he lived with us three years in high school. My hope is to get to take the three of them to Galveston, Texas for a deep-sea fishing trip with my husband. It will be the last time we can all be together and who knows how long. This would make my mama heart full.??

  2. I just got home from my “summer” special thing. We had a family reunion in Montana during the Miles City Bucking Horse Sale. My siblings and I were born there but moved to Oregon when I was 9 years old. We had family from Oregon, Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Florida come. Sixteen of us in all. We visited the cemetery where our parents and other family are buried. We also enjoyed the events from the 74th Annual Bucking Horse Sale (parade and rodeo while selling the bucking horses) and stayed at my brother’s home 15 miles east of town. A grand time was had by all as we realized again that no matter the miles between us, we all have things that are similar to other family members even if we weren’t all raised together at the same time.

  3. I am just looking forward to a nice relaxing summer reading and enjoying the outdoors by the lake with family. I just finished my chemo and radiation and I am just looking to enjoy life.

  4. I am looking forward to traveling to Iceland. My husband and I are working on a bucket list of places to visit. He is retired and I am still working for now. We have made it to New Zealand and the fjords were beautiful and serene. This is actually a cruise so we can basically go around Iceland and visit a few ports. We also have an upcoming trip next year from Miami through the Panama Canal and last but looking forward to a trip from Seattle to Alaska.

  5. YES!!!!!
    We are expecting something special!
We are in the process of selling our home of about 25 years!
As my husband retires, we are looking to start new adventures, doing new things together, going to new places, trying new foods, but best of all meeting new people!
As we are Canadians, with a fifth wheel and a love for our country we will be living in our home and getting to know our country better! I have always believed that no matter where you live you should know your country first!
We are also hoping to do some international travel, and doing some of the things that have been on our goal board for more than 20 years!
But the most important part of it is that we’re going to do these things together! We’ve been married for 41 years, and we both had very busy jobs and careers that don’t allow for a lot of time when vacation time comes! So now we’re just gonna wander, enjoy our new phase in life, doing it together with passion!

  6. I will need to go different as we are moving into Winter. What I am most looking forward to is rain. (I actually and not a winter lover). But we are in drought a severe drought. very dry 2024 and 2025 is even worse. we have had about and inch and a half all year so far. I use to love the fire to warm up to but this house doesn’t have it and I miss it. But I do like settling in for the night earlier in the colder weather. And looking forward to getting more of the garden done for spring. (its been delayed due to the heat we had). Also doing inside things like jigsaws etc.
