  1. Amy,
Thanks so much for being my guest today. And thanks to all who posted comments. Understanding that God's the answer to every question sounds so simple, but it isn't!

  2. Carrie:

You are a dear Sister in Christ, who the Father brought to me in the worst of times. You are comfort and a strength…you inspire me! Thank you friend for your encouragement and support.

  3. Every woman's -and every CHILD'S- story, captured so eloquently in your words.
Thank you Amy for sharing not only your journey but your revelations with us.

As I read, I was reminded of one of my favorite ruminations about The Father's never-failing presence: the poem 'I Am There' by James Dillet Freeman…

'Do you need me? I AM there. You cannot see me-yet I AM the light you see by…you cannot hear me, yet I speak through the sound of your own voice'
paragraph after paragraph unfolding with God's replies to our heartfelt and aching questions.

Thank you for reminding me of my own walk with God today- and of my need to focus more on The One.
Beautifully and thoughtfully written Amy– a joy to read your work!

  4. Juanita:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. He is indeed a patient God…I know I frustrate Him mightily, as I am sure you feel this also. We are all rough diamonds or cracked pots…I have always squirmed and rebelled against the Potter's Hands as He molded me. I have also run from the intensity of His refining fire, turning my back on the work He had called me to do. In the end, Abba leads us back coaxing, prodding and lovingly letting us know He is here to prosper, not to harm us.

I am glad and praise Him for not giving up on either of us…all the more reason to return His love in the same way.

  5. Amy, thank you for sharing your life with us. I had always wished I had had the loving Christian home, at least my mother did see that we went to church after my age of 6, but our home life was not good, but the Love of Jesus flowed through others and challenged me to walk with the Lord, but He has had to work with a hard hard hard rough diamond here. I had to smile when you said you could picture Him slapping his forehead, something like that wondering if you would ever use the good sense you were born with, that I so identified with. I sometimes wonder at age of 71 why He just didn't give up on me. He keeps on keeping on and I love Him for it. Juanita W

  6. An FYI: I searched and searched before I wrote this article for the book I referred to here, but I couldn't find it. I should have enlisted my Retired Intelligence Officer hubby to search for it, because he found it immediately! The title of the book was "Epaminondos and his Auntie" by Sara Cone Bryant. If you would like to read the text from the book you can find it here: http://www.sterlingtimes.org/epaminondas.htm.

Forgive me for the misspelling of the character's name…but this was what my younger ears heard when the story was told to me. I am happy to correct it and attribute the story properly. You will also see why the story is probably NOT told any longer…though it was delight the way my Aunt told it to me…I had no idea it was story about a slave boy…she told the story like it was about any child of any color. It is a comfort blessing given to me from my Aunt.

  7. To Jacqueline:
Thank you Jacque for your comments…Many times I see my trials as benign in comparison to what others go through in life…I have been truly blessed…God…Christ has been my companion all of my life, whether I wanted Him there or not. He must truly see something in me…I am still trying figure out what it is…it has been adventure. I am blessed to know His unconditional love…I am honored that He has chosen me for His plan to guide those who struggle in the Mid-Life season…it is the time that He prepares a way to the final season…this is where legacies are truly made.

    To SSTI:

Thank you for you enthusiastic support! You are a gem!

  8. From Jacqueline Kelm at Facebook:

Beautifully written. You have enabled me to see my many faults are forgiven by the Lord. I have been learning to Let go and Let God. I didnt understand this when I was younger. I was always searching and many times in very wrong places. I now look back and see that my mistakes were meant for me to make. My eyes are wide open now. I know this is Gods plan. Thankyou for being so honest. You are helping so many people everyday. Its only when we have been through pain that we can have the empathy for others pain. Now its up to us to help others, Gods plan all along. Many blessings to you! Jacque

  9. Hallelujah!

I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!

    Amy,

This is what I've prayed and waited for–

That you would share from your life and your heart in this way!

Completely. Humbly but with a boldness that comes from knowing, knowing and knowing again, His precious grace.

The purpose that He has accomplished is a joy to share!

Even through the stories of our messy lives we share with confidence and joy.

Through your transparency and authenticity I see evidence of his grace and love and that is powerful!

    xxoo

  10. Thank you Lyn for letting me share at Strong Women Brave Heats. It is an honor to be among so many wonderful women.
