  2. I am excited for the day I can sit down and read Love's Rescue! I know it will be a HUGE winner!

I just returned with my hubby from a trip to Pittsburgh. We spent Monday at Whitaker House, touring and visiting. What fun!

Hope to meet you one of these days, Tammy.

God bless you and your writing ministry.

    Hugs…
    Shar

  3. Edna,
I'm happy that you shared the story of your mom. It was special. And so sorry about the sad news about your sister. I will say a prayer for her. And don't worry about spelling here!
    Hugs,
    Lyn

She was such a blessing, and just today I found out my only sister that is left has altimeazers (sorry can’t spell) and she will be 89 in July. I am 66 and she is the only sister I have left with 2 brothers. Please pray for me and for her.

  6. Hi Carmen,

Here’s a blurb about the story, book one of my new Sierra Chronicles Trilogy and a Golden Rose Award winner:

    A Dividing Conflict
In 1863, the War Between the States is dividing more than just a nation. To escape the conflict, Jessica Hale and her family flee their Kentucky home and head for Nevada Territory. Her brother, Ambrose, committed to the Confederates, rejoins the Kentucky militia and is disowned by his father. But the worst is yet to come.

    A Heroic Kidnapper
When Unionists presume the family to be Confederate sympathizers, they set a devastating fire to their home. All alone and then “kidnapped” by cattleman Jake Bennett, Jessica is taken to a ranch deep in the Sierra Nevada wilderness. Can she overcome her resentment toward Jake for failing to save her family?

    The Depths of Love
When Jake launches a plan to help Jessica’s brother escape from prison camp, she sees him for the honest, good-hearted Christian man that he is and now knows the depth of his love for her. Through the lingering smoke and smoldering ashes from her ruined home and murdered family, will Jessica see a future with Jake?

  7. Haven’t read any Western novels other than non’fiction. This would be my first.

  8. Hi Vicki!

After I lived in Louisville, Kentucky (and got to skip school to enjoy a family “field trip” to Churchill Downs), I was hooked. In researching the book, I visited the Kentucky Horse Park (http://www.kyhorsepark.com/) in Lexington, and I almost couldn’t leave. When God created horses, He flat outdid Himself. =)

  9. I love horses. I grew up in the city but managed to talk my parents into buying me a horse. I rode it all over town, and that experience has helped me so much in my own writing today.
