Lyn Reviews Nancy Moser’s
Washington’s Lady by Nancy Moser
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was a fascinating first person historical biography of a famous marriage. I learned much about Martha Washington that I hadn’t known and better understood her inablity to discipline her son who paid for it by early death. Anyway as this is our nation’s 250 anniversary you might want to read this to discover why it was said that George Washington was “First in War, First in Peace, First in the Hearts of his countrymen.” And why King George the III said that if he could go back to his plantation after the war, he would be the greatest man in the world. Just compare GW to Napoleon. Mr. Washington didn’t want POWER. He wanted a nation of freedom and honor IMHO.
