Lyn Interviews Author Melanie Dobson & Why She Loves Cemeteries — 19 Comments

  1. I love that you had a family tradition of going together. I like going as well when it’s quiet and peaceful. It also makes me take a fresh look at my life.

    With joy,

  2. You are so welcome! Thank you for your comments and for your heart for our brothers and sisters in Mexico and Nicaragua.

God bless you and your ministry!

  3. How interesting that you have an old cemetery right on your property! Thank you for your note.

  4. I have been going to old cemeteries since I was a very small child. It was our family tradition [way, way back] to go there for “decoration day. I love to go when no one is there—there is such peace to be found there and a different awareness of God’s presence.
    The interview was great.

  5. Melanie, I too love to walk through old cemeteries. My mind wanders about the life they lived. Enjoyed your interview and the give-away. Thanks to you Lyn for this interview. maxie ( )

  6. this sounds so good, I love historial books. thanks for doing this

  7. I forgot to THANK YOU for the Kindle Fire and books giveaway. I’m far away from being a home economist now – my husband and I have been missionaries for 8 years in Mexico and Nicaragua, with a home in Donna, TX, so close to Mexico I could spit & reach it!

  8. When I was an Extension Home Economist in Oklahoma one of the state projects was to record every person burried in every cemetary in Oklahoma! Our older extension ladies clubs were in charge and the 4-H’ers helped. What a job that was but now there are records!

  9. My parents were funeral directors, so by default i spent time in cemeteries. We now never bypass one without taking note of it. We actually have an old one (only 3 graves, no marble markers, just wooden crosses) on the corner of our land. Think it’s the family that used to own that quarter of land. Can see that there would be lots of potential found in those old ones. Thanks for the interview and chance to win.

  10. Hi Melanie! I love going to old cemeteries too. I’m a genealogy nut so I spend a lot of time in cemeteries.
Thanks for the interview and giveaways.
