On Twitter, I found this interesting letter from a former slave to his master, dated August, 1865.

  1. This is a moving letter and well written and strong. This man is very intelligent and the way he worded the letter even if it was written by another shows he has alot of insight and clearly states what has happened and that he doesn’t believe the master really has changed at all. It is a great historical document.
