A New Year-New Changes? Need Your Input
Greetings on the first Monday of 2012! Can you remember when we were all focused on a new century starting? Now we’re over a decade into the 21st century.
On November 30, 2011 this blog passed a quiet third anniversary. Before 2008, I had been urged to start a blog but didn’t until I decided what one more blog could offer.
Then I realized that I wanted to focus on stories of strong women. After all that’s what I write. So I’ve tracked the number of visits and see that my blog followers enjoy authors who drop by and tell their stories of strength and of their heroine’s strength. I plan to continue those stories. I enjoy reading them too!
However, I also want to give readers a chance to tell their stories. I don’t think there is enough of this-THOUGH many of you have shared some of your life in your comments. To encourage this, I’m thinking of choosing one of the fruits of the spirit a month and asking readers (as well as authors) to share their stories that show this “quality” in action.
Here’s Galatians 5:22-25 NIV
22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
What do you think of focusing on one of these a month during the 1st 9 months of this year? Would you find that of interest? Would you be willing to participate in sharing an incident from your life? Or a truth you’ve observed in life?
So– Would you be interested and participate in stories centering on the 9 fruits of the spirit?
And come back tomorrow–something new for you!–Lyn
Glad to inspire you, Gee!
I think it would be awesome. I love your books and as I continue to pluck on this computer to get my first novel written it is always inspiring to read from others.
Thanks, Paula. Be sure to drop by and add your voice.
Thanks, Connie!
I like this idea Lyn, sounds like a great idea
We all need to live by the Fruits of the Spirit….sounds wonderful!
Glad you’re in, Peggy!
my comment posted time at 535 pm and here in midwest it was 1135 am
Lyn- How funny I came here early monday and there was nothing but this idea i think is what alot of us would love to have we could release and tell and then also get support from alot of women the best thing is that of course it would be semi-private and release is what alot of us need whether it is an incident that happened recently or years ago maybe getting those out would help everyone in this new year,,,,thank you for the time you give to your readers….hugs peggy
Thanks, Camilla. Glad to have you on board.
Okay, Kimberly, but you’re going to have to help so think of some examples so you’ll be ready!
Oops, needed to correct my blog address. Sorry about this.

Lyn,
I find myself only interested in reading books with strong Christian female leads in them. I am thankful for authors like yourself that subscribe to this micro-genre. 🙂
Camilla
Sounds intriguing. Anything that’ll help connect fruits of the spirit with real life examples will help. 🙂
Okay, I’ll hold you to that, Ginny. 🙂

Great idea. Thanks for doing it.
The Fruits of the Spirit should be the goal of each christian, so your encouragement toward this endeavor would be much appreciated! 🙂
True, Becky!
Yes, Juanita, well said. We can encourage each other in our spiritual growth.
Yes, that would be great, we need to be exhibiting the fruits of the Spirit, it will bless us and those we come in contact with. We need to stay connected to the Vine (Jesus) in order to bear fruit. It would be good to be reminded of these fruits that should be flowing through us.
So glad to get quick replies. I’m trying to keep my focus but don’t want my blog to get stale.
Excellent!
Great, Edna. So nice to see you again.
Thanks, AprilR. We’ll get you back into motion!
Sounds like a good idea!
I like your idea a lot. I say go for it. I have always love reading stories centered around the fruits of the the spirit. I would find this topic to be a wonderful topic to talk about.

I love your books and would love to be part of this, A lot of the books I read I have been through the things the story is about or know something about the place. I leave comments all the time alone with my reviews .
Thanks and may God bless

Thanks, Paula! This is really the heart of living for Christ I think.
