Lyn Asks this Month’s Question — 15 Comments

  1. How do you write? Other authors have shared (some have specific routines, places, times, others don’t). All you authors have my utmost admiration; the thought of writing a whole book is quite daunting to me!

  2. I have no idea. I think all my series have repeat characters but some series are “tethered” by place or theme.

  3. My Northern Intrigue series is on Audible. And most of the others are available via virtual voice for only $1.99. Or do what I do, get a Kindle Fire and let Alexa read my books to you, no extra cost.

  4. If you were trapped inside one of your own books, which one would it be and why?

  5. Why don’t you have any of your book available on Audible:) they would be so fun to listen to.
Also I think so few answers came in about America is due to the upheaval around the world, not just America. It’s a good time to remind ourselves that we are not of this world, we are citizens of the Kingdom of God. America has slowly removed God from everything, and heaven forbid if God is mentioned in our schools. So Sad.

  6. why do authors write books that are in a series but standalone and the characters do not go from book to book,

  7. How do you get and stay inspired to write? As an amateur artist I find it hard at times to be inspired

  8. I will try answering again, since I do not see my answer. This Michigander would love to know – How does where you live – a lakeside cottage the northwoods of Wisconsin, influence the settings of your stories? Do you prefer some town settings – or a metropolis like Chicago? Would love to see a story with the Wisconsin River Road – Mississippi River as a setting.

  9. I think I missed last month’s question. I get behind on my e-mail sometimes. Anyway, here’s my question – are you a coffee or a tea drinker? And how do you like it fixed?

  10. I didn’t comment last month cos I am an Aussie.
If you weren’t an author, what would you have liked to be?

  11. Do your characters ever interrupt your sleep, meals, driving, conversations, etc.?

  12. Hi Lyn! This German American retired educator and Michigander, apologizes for not answering last month’s question. I was out of town helping my middle son Jon – single dad with joint custody of his nine year old daughter. February was not a nice month in West Michigan. The Presidents Day 100 car pile up in Hudsonville, MI is stretch of road I usually drive. Fortunately I was already at his house and returning home, later that week, I took a different route. I was behind reading emails. March seems better, except for hubby having a horrid cold / sinus infection.

MY QUESTION: This reader has lived on both sides of Lake Michigan. In the 1980s while living in the Chicago area, we made many trips to Wisconsin to visit friends and go shopping. Why do you enjoy living in Wisconsin and how does living in the northwoods of Wisconsin influence your writing? How far are you from Chicago, Wisconsin Dells, Mississippi River and Lake Michigan? Does tourism and attractions influence your writing? One of my favorite trips was the Great River Road through Wisconsin. Traveling 250 miles along the Mississippi River and through more than 33 historic river towns & villages.

Best wishes and Happy Writing. German Oma Renate
